About Me

Hi, I’m Suzy. I live in Amsterdam and write everything on this site.

I have a BA in English Language and Culture, where I spent a lot of time studying literature, creative writing and stylistics.

I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree in Communication and Information, with a particular interest in rhetoric. Alongside my studies, I work at a children’s daycare because, unfortunately, makeup does not pay for itself.

I’ve also worked in beauty retail, including at a Bobbi Brown counter, and I’ve been interested in makeup for years outside of work too. Most of the products I review are things I’ve bought with my own money, so I tend to choose them quite carefully. If I bought something myself, it is usually because I was genuinely interested in it in the first place.

When I have the time, I also love streaming and playing videogames.

About Sazunna

The name Sazunna goes back to when I was a young child, younger than ten. My brother and I used to play MMORPGs like MapleStory, but also a lot of much more niche ones that were freely downloadable online.

At some point, I needed a username. My brother shuffled the letters in my name around, and Sazunna came out of it. I’ve kept it ever since.

When it comes to the online sphere, Sazunna is the name I connect with. It’s the username I’ve used for pretty much everything for most of my life, so when I made this website, its URL was a no-brainer.

What I Write About

Beauty is the main subject at the moment: new releases, limited editions, things I’ve bought, things I’m considering buying, and collections I find interesting enough to look into properly.

Because I live in the Netherlands, I also pay attention to whether products are available here in Europe.

Outside of beauty, I write about books, fashion and videogames whenever I feel like it.

There isn’t really a posting strategy beyond that.

Contact & Disclosure

Most of the things I write about are things I bought myself or simply decided to cover because I found them interesting.

If something is gifted, sent as PR, or sponsored, I’ll say so. Receiving a product doesn’t guarantee that I’ll cover it, or that the coverage will be positive.

You can reach me through the following form.

I also love receiving tips about new releases and upcoming collections, so if you have an idea, please reach out!
